David M. Spaulding, Esq.
Secretary

The Kenton County Judge Executive appointed David Spaulding to the NKWD Board of Commissioners for the first time on August 28, 2011. He was most recently reappointed for an additional four-year term running August 25, 2015 through August 28, 2019.  The Board voted in January 2017 for Mr. Spaulding to serve as Secretary for a one-year term. Mr. Spaulding has served two previous one-year terms as Vice-Chair, two one-year terms as Treasurer, and one previous term as Secretary.

David Spaulding is Vice President & General Manager of Turner Construction Company, Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Spaulding has been involved in negotiating over a billion dollars in contracts including construction of the NKU College of Informatics and the Kenton County Detention Center. Prior to his career at Turner, David was a solo practitioner primarily focused on litigation.

David and his wife Kelly are lifelong Northern Kentucky residents and have three children. Mr. Spaulding graduated cum laude from Lewis College of Business at Marshall University with a Bachelor of Business degree and a minor in Economics. He received his J.D. from NKU Salmon P. Chase College of Law and is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky.
Mr. Spaulding is very active in the community. Some of his community involvement includes:

  • President Elect, Board of Governors for NKU Chase College of Law
  • Trustee for the Chase College Foundation
  • Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors, Business Advocacy Council and Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee

  • Various committees within the Ohio, Kentucky, and Northern Kentucky Bar Associations
  • Forum on the Construction Industry for the American Bar Association

David is also an instructor at the Turner School of Construction Management for emerging Minority and Women owned businesses throughout the region and a guest lecturer at the University of Cincinnati.
